Down to their last bits of silver, a group of unrelated people were asked by the Runswick Guildmaster of the Adventurer's Guild to provide aide to a nearby small village. Over the past two weeks, goblins have been sneaking in at night, stealing their children. And while this would be something that official guild members would take care of, there isn't any that are currently available, and the elected representative of this village is seeking immediate aid. This group of unlikely people decided to take this job not only to help a small village, but add some coin back into their purses, as to not go hungry or sleep out in the streets.
This unlikely group of upcoming adventurers are:
Thorne, a male Fairy with hummingbird-like wings. He wields a pair of Warpicks, that were found with him as a babe. He doesn't know exactly where his kind comes from, but his upbringing within the village of Wood Elves helped give him the training he needs to survive.
Rheymme, a male Half-Orc. While he has a lot to say, he can only really express himself through his artistry of the stage and his puppets.
There is Swipe, a small Kobold who's sticky fingers likes to find items to help spread the wealth and creating an equal society. "Stick it to the man!"
Rolling in next to Swipe is P5T12-FL-NT, also known as Flint. A small Autognome, who's heart burns like a forge and is looking to improve his special skills with creating firearms.
Then we have Seraf, a Half-Elf who's skilled with both spell and blade. He's on a personal quest, and hopefully it will end on a positive note.
Finally there is Caius, a lean Goliath who has seen many different places through his time on a trader's ship.
They traveled for three days out from Runswick to this small village, called Greenhook. There they met with Dersden, the elected representative. They found out that six small human babies were taken from them. The people of Greenhook sent out a search party, but they never returned.
After learning of the direction that the goblins came from, this small group began their tracking of the goblins. Thorne, a small Fairy, did an excellent time tracking the goblins' tracks, as he is a very adept Ranger. Through the forest, they came across a pack of Dire Wolves, hungry and starving for anything that they can get their teeth in. The group quickly dispatched of the pack.
They eventually found the cave where the goblins were calling home. Swipe was able to sneak in and do some observing, and after formulating a plan, the group was able to take many of the goblins out. Towards the back of the cave, where the babies were being kept, they discovered a female goblin, named Tulsa. She looked different than the other goblins, showing more beauty and intelligence than the others.
The group was able to subdue her. Once she was subdued, they went to inspect the babies that were taken. They discovered that three were alive and healthy. Two were horribly mutilated. The last baby seemed to have been transformed; mostly looking like a baby goblin, with a few humanistic features. Tulsa pleaded with the group to spare her and her new child, the baby goblin she named 'Thurtz'. The group declined her pleas, saying that the child wasn't ever hers to begin with. Tulsa flew into a panic, and as she tried to use her body to shield them from taking the baby goblin, they ended her life.
The group took the babies back to Greenhook, where, with the help of Dersden, helped reunite the stolen children with their parents. The parents were extremely happy, but when the parents of the transformed goblin baby approached, they rejected the child, grief-stricken that the child that they bore wasn't the same. Thankfully, there was a couple of Halflings named Gozbert & Rylee Bilberry who didn't have children of their own. They gladly took the goblin child in, and promised to raise it as their own. Finding out that the child, when it was human, was named Henry, the couple decided to combine the two names to name child: 'Hurtz'.
With the children returned, Dersden signed a writ stating that the job was complete, and the group headed back to Runswick.
